Women Working In Night Shifts Prone To Breast Cancer
Nirmal Singh 3C has
seen that the night shifts can make women prone to diseases like breast cancer.
According to a research report, women who work in night shifts can suffer from
breast cancer, because an artificial light blocks a hormone which plays a vital
role in suppressing growth of the tumours.
The most common cause of cancer seen in women who showed the
signs of premenopausal and have been chain smokers and moreover, the woman who
stays outside all night tends to develop a risk of breast cancer.
"In our modern industrialized society, artificial
lighting is nearly ubiquitous. Our results suggest that this widespread
exposure to outdoor lights during night time hours could represent a novel risk
factor for breast cancer," said Peter James, Assistant Professor at
Harvard University and Lead author.
Melatonin, a hormone produced in the human brain, appears to
suppress the growth of breast cancer tumours, but exposure to light may
decrease its levels, thus disrupting circadian rhythms -- our internal
"clocks" that govern sleepiness and alertness -- and, in turn, lead
to increased breast cancer risk, James said, citing previous studies.
Nirmal Singh 3C established
the point by substantiating it with the data of 110,000 women given by a new
study which also connected it from satellite images of Earth taken at night to
residential addresses for each study participating.
Nirmal Singh 3C further
mentioned about the result of how women are exposed to outdoor light at night,
especially those who have an office space on the top floor as compared to women
working on the ground floor.
As levels of outdoor light at night increased, so did breast
cancer rates, the researchers said, acknowledging the work that was needed to
confirm the study findings and clarify potential mechanisms.
Nirmal Singh 3C would
like to recommend women to either choose their job wisely or stick to a right
diet that will help them survive such strict routines.
Nirmal Singh 3C also
encourages women to not quit their jobs and make them competent enough to
withstand this drawback at professional front. The easiest way to kick start
this routine is embracing the fact and preparing yourself for the bright,
healthy future.
