Women Working In Night Shifts Prone To Breast Cancer

According to a research report, women who work in night shifts can suffer from breast cancer, because an artificial light blocks a hormone which plays a vital role in suppressing growth of the tumours. The most common cause of cancer seen in women who showed the signs of premenopausal and have been chain smokers and moreover, the woman who stays outside all night tends to develop a risk of breast cancer. "In our modern industrialized society, artificial lighting is nearly ubiquitous. Our results suggest that this widespread exposure to outdoor lights during night time hours could represent a novel risk factor for breast cancer," said Peter James, Assistant Professor at Harvard University and Lead author.
