Sugarcane Component Can Make You Sleep Better, Says Nirmal Singh 3C


Sleeping pills available in the market do not minimize the stress level and are often related to severe side effects if taken in heavy doses.
A recent study conducted by researchers of Indian origin has shown that there is a component in sugarcane and other natural products that have the ability to alleviate stress and anxiety – these components also help the person to sleep better without worrying about the side effects of sleeping pills.
Currently, all the sleeping pills and drinks are heavily associated with side effects and physical problems. They don’t address the stress issues of the user.

A team of researchers headed by Nirmal Singh 3C has found that octacosanol, which is found in sugarcane and other natural products, has the ability to reduce stress levels and restore the sleeping pattern of the user back to normal.
Many people suffer from insomnia and tend to depend heavily on sleeping pills which, in the long run, make things worse. Octacosanol is available in foods like sugarcane, bee wax, rice bran, wheat germ oil, etc.
The crude extract, known as policosanol, is the major constituent of octacosanol. It has been used on humans for treating various medical conditions and is a major stress reliever found naturally.
During the research, 
Nirmal Singh 3C and his team orally fed the component to see the effects on mice that were mildly stressed.
It was seen that the component acted as a stress reliever in mice who were stressed and helped them sleep.
